Get Started

let’s get to work

three easy steps to start

If you are experiencing a psychiatric emergency or are at risk of harming yourself or someone else, please contact 911 or go to your nearest hospital’s emergency department. The same applies for a loved one. Support is also available at 1-800-273-8255 (Suicide Prevention Lifeline), Crisis Text Line or IMAlive.

Step 1

Complete the New Client Inquiry Form. I will respond as soon as possible, typically within 1-2 business days, to schedule a 15-minute consultation call.

Step 2

During the consultation call, we will talk briefly about your concerns and determine if I’m a good fit for your needs. We will discuss a few logistical things, such as payment, scheduling and how a typical appointment will go, along with scheduling the first appointment. I’ll answer any questions you have about starting therapy.

Step 3

Prior to the first appointment, I will send you an intake form to complete and return. Our first intake session will feel kind of “business-y” – this where we will go over any important family history, typical demographic information and will feel like I’m asking A LOT of questions.

For your child:
During the intake appointment, I will hang out with your child one-on-one for a bit to get to know them and begin to gauge their attention span and the time they can actively focus. I typically do some form of one-on-one time with your child, parenting sessions that will just be the adults and what I will refer to as Team sessions; Team sessions are parents and child together.

For your teen:
During the intake appointment, I will meet with your teen one-on-one for a bit so I can begin building rapport and ease them into what to expect moving forward. Teens appreciate feeling a sense of autonomy – they will be able to mention any information they feel is important for me to know. Your teen and I will work together as a team to determine how and when we include parents.

For your family:
When I work with families within the family therapy structure, the entire family is considered the client – that means that all members of the family need to be present for sessions. In the beginning we will do anywhere from 3-5 sessions to help me understand family history, each family member’s individual developmental and social history and current family stressors.
